As I look back over the past year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all the lovely people I’ve met. Thank you for finding your way to me. I’m grateful to all of you who were drawn to do shamanic healing or journeying or attend the various workshops and events in nature.
The rapid growth of the community around Ewassa brings me hope that we can indeed revive some of the ancient ways of healing and connecting and honoring and caring for the earth and each other, that are so needed in today’s world!
Stepping into Ayni
When we come together in nature with open hearts and a desire to give back in honor of what we’ve received, we can change the world we live in for the better. There is a subtle energetic shift that happens both within us and around us. This is a concept referred to in the Quechua language (in Peru) as Ayni.
Wherever you are and however you celebrate this holiday season, as the busy bustle subsides and you drop into that space of gratitude for your loved ones, I’d like to offer a reminder:
To also give thanks for all that you’ve received from the earth throughout the year. Nourishing food, the beauty of nature, beloved animals and the winged creatures around you. And give thanks for the water that cleanses you and quenches your thirst and washes over the earth and awakens the flowers. For the breath of life that moves through you and the clean air that fills your lungs. And for the fire that warms you and transforms your food.
Each of the elements sustains life as we know it, and we wouldn’t be here without them.
As we approach the winter solstice it’s also the perfect time to give thanks for that radiant celestial orb that brings light and life to our world. Without it, few things would grow and we would live in darkness. It is simply amazing how the sun rises and shines upon us, every single day, reminding us that we are deeply loved and cared for. When we remember and honor this miraculous cycle, our thoughts and gratitude help us step into Ayni and bring more balance to our lives and the earth.
Looking Ahead to the New Year
I feel heartened and hopeful as I look forward to 2020. I would love to hear from all of you as I begin to plan next year’s schedule. What did you like about events this year? What would you like to see more of next year? How can we make the experience you had even better? Please, please send me an email with your thoughts and suggestions!
We have already scheduled a series of Shamanic Journeying Workshops starting in January at Namaste Healing and Wellness in Evergreen, and be adding new events for the rest of the year.
If you aren’t already on my email list, please sign up here to learn about 2020 events and my upcoming book release. Or join our Facebook community where I share inspirational quotes, images and articles, as well as news about upcoming events. And if you could take a moment, please leave a review on the Ewassa Facebook page. Thank you!
With much love and gratitude I wish you many blessings this solstice and throughout the holidays. May your heart overflow with love and generosity and continued awe for this magnificent world we live in.
Warmest wishes,
Liz Gomez
